What is Families First?

Families First is Tennessee’s program to help low income people with children.

To get Families First, you must:

• Have a child living with you who is under 18 (or sometimes 19).

• Be related to the child by blood or marriage.

• Have family income below the amount allowed by Families First. 

If your children are on Families First, you can get a cash payment each month.
